THE COUNT, NEW FROG ALBUM
Aug 28, 2025

I'M THE BADDEST BITCH YOU EVER FUCKIN' SEEN
Danny Bateman, 2025
On August 27th, Frog announced their seventh album, The Count, which will be releasing next month on September 19th. I thought this would be a good chance to finally start my fan website and give myself something to do. So, let me be your guide on this new release and I'll go over what we already know and what we should expect.
In February of this year, Frog released "1000 Variations on the Same Song", which contained 10 variations and a bonus ode to a furniture store. The Count is a new set of variations from the 1000 song project Frog has been working on, making it the second album in what could be a series of up to 1000 songs if they continue on their quest. Have they gone mad? Probably.
The album will release with 10 tracks:
The first single is releasing this Friday on August 29th, with us getting the first song, "BITTEN BY MY LOVE VAR. XI". The album cover is one of my new personal favorites. I wonder what it would've been like to witness the old Frog scribble being drawn in real time.

Here are all the songs from the album that have been performed before, with their respective links:

Just wanted to say that this live performance is fantastic, probably their best. I've been listening to this one to hold me over until the final song gets released. It's hard to believe that some of these songs are variations at all with how different they all sound.

I can tell Danny has a lot of fun performing these songs and then you have Tom and Steve trying their absolute best to keep up with his creative way of playing. I think Bateman with a piano on stage is dangerous and we need to keep him in check.

With this one being subtitled "In The Middle Song" and the song in the video mentioning that word for word, this is probably the the name of the song. If it is not, you will not see me again. This is the song I am most excited to see finalized. It's branching out from the strict nature of the first ten variations. It's grown on me since I heard it in the recordings all those months ago.

P.S. the quote from the beginning of this post is uttered in the performance at The Echo. Not sure if it will end up on the album too, but we will have to wait and see.
And that concludes our short little introduction to The Count, the second time Frog has released 2 albums within a year of each other. If any more news pops up, come back here and I'll try and keep myself talking! Hopefully, I will not let this blog die. Maybe it will become a big blog full of big frogs. But do we have any flies?
